The National Hockey League Entry Draft is in full swing and although what is undeniably the most exciting part of the draft, the first round, has come to an end, teams across the league still have plenty of selections left to make before their work in this year's draft has come to an end.
On Saturday the draft continued with the second round of the 2021 NHL Entry Draft and, as is now the case thanks to the Seattle Kraken officially joining the league this week, 32 young men had their lives forever changed as they heard their names called in the draft. Players drafted in the second round don't usually make an immediate impact at the NHL level, but there are often hidden gems found in the second round that can turn out to be truly huge difference makers for their team. A good example of this is Chicago Blackhawks forward Alex DeBrincat, who no doubt had every team that passed up on him in the draft kicking themselves when he put up 32 goals in 52 games for the Blackhawks this season.
