They’re two of the best players in the National Hockey League today, and it won’t be too much longer before both of them have the chance to become free agents.

Both Toronto Maple Leafs forward Auston Matthews, who can become a free agent in 2024, and Edmonton Oilers captain Connor McDavid, who can become a free agent a bit further down the road in 2026, were seen meeting together in Toronto.

However, for fans salivating on the thought of them plotting a super team together, they likely needn’t be.

 Can you imagine a squad with both Matthews and McDavid together? Talk about giving the opposition defense and goaltenders nightmares!
