Carter Hart’s Mom get emotional when the rookie goalie is named 1st Star in his NHL debut

In case you missed it, highly touted rookie goaltender Carter Hart finally made his debut for the Philadelphia Flyers last night, turning aside 20 of 22 shots to earn his team a 3-2 victory over the Detroit Red Wings.

The 20 year old netminder is one of the hottest prospects in hockey following a dominant junior career with the WHL’s Everrett Silvertips and now he has the weight of decades of disappointment in goal with the Flyers organization on his shoulders. And, wouldn’t you know it, the rookie didn’t even flinch in his debut.

Hart was stellar all evening and even earned himself 1st Star, but the real show was off ice with Hart’s mother in the crowd. She was tearing up when Hart was named as the game’s starter and then absolutely whooped it up with Flyers fans when Hart was named the game’s 1st Star.
