Canucks plan a very special surprise for 105 year old fan!

The Vancouver Canucks went above and beyond for a truly lifelong fan of the franchise!

I gotta be honest with you guys, I think even the most passionate of Vancouver Canucks haters will be hard pressed not to love this truly adorable story.

Many hockey fans consider themselves to be 'lifelong fans' of their particular team but in the case of Kelowna, British Columbia, Canada's Dorothy Palmer that really is the case. You see Dorothy has been a fan of the Canucks since their inception, literally, with Dorothy having been 51 years old at the time the team joined the National Hockey League in 1970.

Dorothy turned 105 years old this week, an incredibly impressive achievement in its own right, and her favorite team went out of their way to make sure the entire thing was extra special for her. Dorothy received a personalized message from Canucks defenseman Quinn Hughes, a young man that is a whopping 81 years younger than Dorothy.

My favorite moment however was when Dorothy, who is incredibly sharp for being 105 years of age, read the letter she received from the Canucks aloud and then opened her gift. That gift was a customized Canucks jersey that read 'Palmer' on the nameplate and had the number '105' on the back.

The look on Dorothy's face when she opened her gift shows just how much the team has meant to her all these years. You can see her reaction to the gift, the special message she received from Quinn Hughes and more by scrolling through the Instagram post just below:

A great gesture by the Canucks organization, one that I am confident everyone can get behind.
