The Colorado Avalanche cannot afford to lose defenseman Cale Makar - but don’t worry this is not the news that will make that happen.

This is some hilarious update from the Avalanche’s practice, provided by TSN’s Ryan Rishaug, who shared footage of Makar getting ready for a shooting in order to show off his impressive puck-handling maneuvers with the help of a drone catching his every move. However before he got a chance to jump on the ice for the sequence, Makar was hit by the drone as the timing was off on the cut.

Makar did not record a point in the first contest of the ultimate series, but the Norris Trophy finalist made a series of clears on the final penalty kill in the third frame before the game headed to overtime. He remains one strong contender in the race for the Conn Smythe trophy and everything involving him trends on social media.

Today, it’s all about Cale and a drone!

In the playoffs this season, Makar has put up five goals and 17 assists, and his 22 points lead Colorado in what could end in the team’s first championship since 2001. In the regular season, he had 28 goals and 86 points and a plus-minus rating of positive-48, second only in the NHL, behind his plus-52 teammate Devon Toews.

We get why a drone wants to catch his every move!
