Blackhawks release devastating updates on Bedard and Foligno.

Terrible updates from the Chicago Blackhawks on Saturday regarding Connor Bedard and Nick Foligno.

The Chicago Blackhawks have confirmed some pretty terrible news on Saturday.

In an official announcement, the Blackhawks have announced that both star rookie forward Connor Bedard and veteran forward Nick Foligno are headed to injured reserve.

Both men have suffered fractures to their bodies, with Bedard suffering a fractured jaw and Foligno suffering a fractured finger, both a direct result of a hit from New Jersey Devils defenseman Brendan Smith.

This is obviously terrible news for the Blackhawks who have already been decimated by injuries at the forward position this season, but even more so now due to the fact that their young superstar has been knocked out of the lineup.

The Blackhawks have made a trade today which would appear to be a direct response to this news.
