Bill Zito loses it after Oilers win Game 5

An insane ending! This series is going back to Alberta!

Trevor Connors

UPDATE: This game is over!

Edmonton Oilers captain Connor McDavid officially iced a victory in Game 5 for the Edmonton Oilers with an empty net goal for his 4th point of the night and the Oilers' 5th goal of the game.

Frankly, it was an insane way to end the game.

To be honest, I'd be pretty pissed if I had to spend my Friday night in Edmonton too...

I kid, I kid...

In all seriousness, you have to have some serious doubts about this Panthers team after what we've seen transpire in the past two games. The Oilers have not only won two games straight, but they've controlled the play and they've been the superior team in just about every measure. If the Panthers outclassed the Oilers in the series' first three games, the Oilers have given it right back to them in the past two.

I know I'll be riveted to the action in Game 6 to see what happens. Can the Cats get over the hump? Can the Oilers continue to buck the trend?

Just when you cleared your schedule for Game 6 on Friday night, Matthew Tkachuk has given the Florida Panthers some life in Game 5.

With the Oilers up 3-0 midway through the game in Game 5, Tkachuk has gotten his team on the board with his first goal in 9 games to cut the Oilers' lead to just two.

There's life yet in the Cats this game. Stay tuned.

Bouch bomb!

The Edmonton Oilers have taken a 2-0 lead over the Florida Panthers in Game 5 of the Stanley Cup Final thanks to a point shot blast from Oilers defenseman Evan Bouchard.

Bouchard absolutely bombed a shot that deflected off forward Zach Hyman and ended up behind Panthers netminder Sergei Bobrovsky.

Connor Brown has broken the ice in Game 5.
