Behind the scenes look at the moment Brad Marchand was traded.

A look at what went on in the Bruins war room as Brad Marchand was traded to the Florida Panthers.

The trade that sent now former Boston Bruins captain Brad Marchand to the Florida Panthers earlier this month will no doubt be talked about for years to come, but last week the Bruins released an unbelievable piece of context that every fan invested in this trade should see.

As part of their ongoing Behind The B series, the Boston Bruins published a video last week that shows the very moment that Marchand was traded. It is an incredible scene to witness, one that stars Bruins general manager Don Sweeney as the central figure in what has been viewed as a highly controversial decision on the part of the Bruins organization.

In the scene Sweeney can be seen entering a small room with several members of his staff seated at a table, with members of that staff discussing various parts of other trades the Bruins were actively involved in. When Sweeney announces the trade however we hear a single utterance of "Jesus!" before the room falls completely silent as they process what Sweeney has just said. The room is so quiet in fact that you can even hear Sweeney's hand tapping the desk as he stands there otherwise quiet after making his announcement.

Full credit to the Bruins for sharing this video with the public, especially given that this isn't the first time the Bruins have shared footage of the behind the scenes of a controversial move.

Long time fans will remember the now infamous footage of former Bruins general manager Peter Chiarelli making the deal that sent star forward Tyler Seguin to the Dallas Stars, footage that has not cast a favorable light on Chiarelli in the years since that deal was made.

Will Sweeney suffer a similar fate? Will fans look back at the behind the scenes footage of Sweeney and the Marchand trade the same way they view the footage of Chiarelli and the Seguin trade? Let me know your thoughts in the comments.
