Longtime NHL New York Rangers netminder Henrik Lundqvist shocked the hockey world twice this past offseason. Firstly, by leaving the Rangers to sign a one year contract with the Washington Capitals and secondly by announcing that he would be unable to play this season due to a serious heart condition.
Now, just three months after having open heart surgery the always affable and always dashing Lundqvist is opening up on everything in a one on one, sit down interview with Kevin Weekes of the NHL Network. The full interview will be broadcast on the NHL Network on Thursday, but the first part concerning Lundqvist's surgery and recovery is available now.
Check it out:
What a true legend. All the best, King Henrik. While I hope to see you back between the pipes in the NHL again, your top priority should be your health. Rest, recover and dedicate yourself to your health and your family, you owe the hockey world nothing. Long live King Henrik!
