Zack Kassian ends his retirement and signs a new deal.

Zack Kassian is getting back on the ice just a few short months after announcing retirement.

Former National Hockey League enforcer Zack Kassian may have retired only a few short months ago, but that won't be keeping him off the ice for much longer.

At the end of October in 2023, Kassian and the National Hockey League Players Association released a joint statement in which Kassian announced that he was retiring after 12 years in the National Hockey League.

On Sunday morning however, Sparta Prague of the Czech Extraliga made an announcement on their website that indicates Kassian's retirement has been very short lived. According to the announcement, which was made in Czech, Kassian is now set to join the team both for the regular season and the subsequent playoffs.

It sounds like Sparta Prague are well aware of the kind of player they are bringing is as well, with Tomas Divisek, the man reportedly behind the decision to bring Kassian over, making a rather hilarious statement about what Kassian brings to the table.

"He has proven his qualities over many years in the NHL, played with the best," said Divisek via the team's website."He is an extremely annoying player, exactly the kind that every team needs. He has a huge desire to get back on the ice and win."

I of course wish Kassian nothing but the best with his new team, and I can only hope that he will create some highlights overseas that will continue to entertain as he did throughout his NHL career.
