Vinnie Hinostroza gets claimed off waivers!
THIS JUST IN! He is on the move, get full details down below:
On Tueday, the Nashville Predators had placed forward Vinnie Hinostroza on waivers with the hopes of reassignment to the AHL’s Milwaukee Admirals.
However, on Wednesday, the Predators lost Hinostroza to the Minnesota Wild, who claimed him off the wire.
The Wild is clearly looking to fill a place in their lineup with forward Ryan Hartman suspended for 10 games for roughing against Ottawa Senators centre Tim Stutzle.
The 30-year-old forward kicked off the season in the AHL with Milwaukee, before he was called up to the big club in late December and has been in and out of the lineup ever since. He has played just 13 games in the NHL this season, posting two assists, and was last in a Preds’ uniform on Monday in a 5-2 loss to the Senators.
He had been doing so well in the AHL and was even selected to represent Milwaukee at the 2025 All-Star Classic this week, but he was replaced by forward Joakim Kemell while he was playing with Nashville.
Hinostroza had come to the Predators organization after signing a two-year, two-way contract this past summer. His deal has an NHL cap hit of $775,000 through the 2025-26 campaign.
Hinostroza, who was originally selected in the sixth round (169th overall) by the Chicago Blackhawks in the 2012 NHL Draft, has played in a total of 387 career games with the Predators, Blackhawks, Arizona Coyotes, Florida Panthers, Buffalo Sabres, and Pittsburgh Penguins. He has tallied 54 goals and 154 points.
