Unexpected suitor suddenly jumps into Pierre-Luc Dubois sweepstakes!
Well, this is unexpected and terrible timing to say the least.

The narrative has been changing when it comes to forward Pierre-Luc Dubois, though it’s been clear he is not willing to sign back in Winnipeg and therefore the Jets will attempt to trade him before losing next summer for nothing.
The Montreal Canadiens have also been the front-runners in this sweepstakes, though others teams have shown interest in the top forward, including the Minnesota Wild, New York Rangers, Colorado Avalanche and Boston Bruins.
Earlier today, we shared reports that the Habs might have to offer more in order to acquire Dubois because one more suitor has reportedly jumped into the sweepstakes.
According to David Pagnotta of The Fourth Period, the Calgary Flames have also been linked to Dubois.
“Dubois made it clear he wants out of Winnipeg and his agent is working with the Jets to help make a move happen. He is believed to be willing to move to a select few teams, similar to Matthew Tkachuk last season, so Winnipeg will explore all of its options,” Pagnotta wrote on his website.
This is certainly strange timing for the Flames to get into the mix of such a coveted player, especially with the ongoing mess taking place in Calgary.
Already dealing with chatter that some top players like Elias Lindholm, Mikael Backlund and Noah Hanifin want out of Calgary, on Thursday, forward Tyler Toffoli came out saying he was looking for a trade out.
Not sure that would attract a player lie Dubois, who could score big in a sign and trade to another club.
