Fans are used to Arizona Coyotes defenseman Jakob Chychrun being a healthy scratch ahead of the trade deadline as he sat out again last night against the Chicago Blackhawks. He was finally traded on Wednesday to the Ottawa Senators.

Vladislav Gavrikov had also been kept out of the lineup prior to the Columbus Blue Jackets sending him to the Los Angeles Kings last night in a blockbuster trade involving veteran goalie Jonathan Quick.

Now David Pagnotta of The Fourth Period reports that the Anaheim Ducks are not dressing defensemen John Klingberg and Dmitry Kulikov tonight against the Washington Capitals for trade related reasons.

Eric Stephens of The Athletic also reported the Ducks’ lineup update, though he notes that there does not appear to be an imminent deal for either Klingberg or Kulikov.

"But a deal involving either does not appear to be imminent. Naturally that can change."

This season, Klingberg has put up 24 points in 50 games for the Ducks. His last game with Anaheim was on Feb. 27, when he recorded an assist in 21:06 minutes of ice time.

As for Kulikov, he played 17:25 minutes against the Chicago Blackhawks on Feb. 27 and has 15 points in 61 games.
We don’t know as of now if any talks have heated up for either blue liner.

Give it… 48 hours! ;)
