This just in, there have been two waiver claims made in the NHL today... and if you're a Calgary Flames fan well, you're not gonna like this.

The Flames lost defenseman Nick DeSimone who was claimed by the New Jersey Devils and forward Adam Ruzicka who was claimed by the Arizona Coyotes.

From NHL insider Frank Seravalli:

Not that either of these players factored into the Flames' long-term plans, but it still stinks to lose two assets with no return... especially in just one afternoon.

Additionally, Seravalli reports that the New York Rangers have put veteran forward Nick Bonino on waivers today.

From Seravalli:

The 35 year old forward has just one goal and five points in 45 games with the Rangers this season, after signing a one year $800,000 deal with the team this past offseason. While his numbers this season might seem unimpressive, I can't see Bonino passing through waivers unclaimed.

Bonino is a two time Stanley Cup champion from his time with the Pittsburgh Penguins and has bounced around the NHL the past few years. In total he has 159 goals and 358 points in 868 career NHL games split between the Anaheim Ducks, Vancouver Canucks, Pittsburgh Penguins, Nashville Predators, Minnesota Wild, San Jose Sharks and New York Rangers.
