Altercation at Leafs’ practice between Max Domi and Brandon Carlo

The Toronto Maple Leafs, who have clinched a playoff berth ahead of the postseason, were on the ice this morning and a strange scene took place during a drill.
According to many pundits and insiders on site, including Lance Hornby, new Leafs defenseman Brandon Carlo and forward Max Domi were going at it during a rush when the blue liner delivered a hard shove to Domi into the end boards. Domi, who can be hot-temepered, retaliated on the play.
The drill ended and it was said that Carlo skated over to check on Domi, looking remorseful.
I personally love when intensity is displayed at practice, especially with the postseason around the corner. The guys have to be ready.
And let’s not forget: Carlo joined the Maple Leafs on Trade Deadline Day, less than a month ago, and might still be getting used to play WITH Domi than against.
After practice, nothing was said about the altercation, probably because after Carlo skated over to chat and check on Domi, both players had buried the hatchet.
Toronto is off today and will be back in action on Saturday against the Columbus Blue Jackets, who are still fighting to get into the postseason. I bet the game will be physical and intense and therefore, it’s probably a good thing Carlo and Domi went at it on Friday.
