The Minnesota Wild had a pretty hilarious situation unfold ahead of their game against the Calgary Flames on Saturday and now a video has emerged online to prove that the story was indeed true.

The story came from Wild insider Michael Russo who reported on Saturday that veteran National Hockey League forward Travis Boyd had been forced to walk to the arena ahead of his Minnesota Wild debut. According to Russo, Boyd's flight had been delayed due to a snowstorm which in turn resulted in him being caught in the traffic of fans heading to the Saddledome in Calgary for the game itself.

After Boyd was caught up in the traffic he made the decision to hop out of the car, grab his equipment bag, and hoof it to the arena in order to get there on time.

"Dom [Hennig] was carrying my sticks for me, I was running through the snowy stuff in a suit and dress shoes on with a bag on my back," said Boyd as per Russo. "It’s funny looking back on it now It’s childhood dream stuff."

It was a hilarious story but it seemed a bit far fetched, especially considering that Boyd was alleged to have walked quite some distance with his bag on his back to the Saddledome. Well low and behold, in a country full of hockey fans, someone spotted Boyd walking to the arena and a video of the incident is now going viral on social media.

The video, shared on social media platform X by user '@Patrick_2421', clearly shows Boyd and team services manager Dom Hennig heading to the arena on foot in the snow. In fact it looks like they may even be further from the arena than Russo originally let on in his report of the story, and Boyd isn't exactly walking. He appears to be jogging to the arena in order to make it there in time, which shows just how committed he is to his team and to the sport that he loves.
