TRADE: Canucks, Blackhawks complete late-night swap
Some late night Friday action!
Don't think that your Friday night was ending without some late night action - of the hockey variety, that is.
The Vancouver Canucks have traded forward Jason Dickinson to the Chicago Blackhawks along with a draft selection in exchange for defenseman Riley Stillman, as first reported by Frank Seravalli of The Daily Faceoff:
Dickinson, who was originally selected 29th overall in the 2013 NHL Draft by the Dallas Stars, was traded to the Canucks in 2021 and was subsequently inked to a three-year, $7.95 million contract extension. He's tallied 30 goals and 44 assists in 283 career NHL games.
Meanwhile, Stillman was taken with the 114th overall pick by the Florida Panthers in 2016. He would be dealt to the Blackhawks as part of a multi-player deal in April of 2021. In 108 career NHL games, he's scored three times while adding 15 assists.
Both teams are slated to begin their 2022-23 regular season schedules next week, and both players will have a chance to show off their talents for their new squads right off the bat.
