Philadelphia Flyers defenseman Tony DeAngelo has once again ran afoul of the National Hockey League, and could be facing a suspension for his actions.

During Tuesday night's game against the Tampa Bay Lightning at Amalie Arena, the agitating blue liner reached into a scrum near the crease and appeared to spear forward Corey Perry, who immediately collapsed to the ice in pain. He immediately received a five minute major and a game misconduct:

Earlier this morning, it was announced by the NHL that he would be having a hearing to determine whether or not his actions warranted further discipline:

The Flyers made the decision to acquire controversial defenseman Tony DeAngelo from the Carolina Hurricanes this offseason and subsequently sign him to a two year, $10 million deal. He's scored 10 goals with 24 assists along with a -28 plus minus rating in 59 games played.
