Wow! We bet the new Oiler heard that!

Evander Kane is now with the Edmonton Oilers, and it feels like the San Jose Sharks couldn’t be happier. During his first press conference as a new member of the Oilers last week, Kane denied that there was rumours that he got in many arguments with teammates in San Jose. Sharks teammates were reportedly unhappy with Kane’s “general disrespect for team rules, including routinely being late for games and practices, not adhering to the dress code and having poor practice habits,” per The Athletic. It was even mentioned that Kane almost got into a fight with Sharks assistant coach Rocky Thompson over the winger’s positioning on the power play.
When questioned about all of this happening in San Jose, Kane did not think twice about throwing his former teammates under the bus, questioning the Sharks’ leadership.
“To say that everybody in the locker room, I didn’t get along with, would be just incredibly false. It’s less than a handful of guys, but it goes both ways.
"When there’s leaks coming from the dressing room in the media, I wouldn’t say that’s necessarily a good act of leadership or being a productive teammate. I mean, it definitely didn’t come from me.”
On Tuesday, Tomas Hertl, a pending unrestricted free agent, spoke with reporters and decided to take a final sneaky shot at his former teammate.
”I’ve enjoyed every moment in the locker room this year…The locker room this season is better than before.”
Hertl might not want to come back to a team that hasn’t made the playoffs in the past two seasons, and one that likely isn’t going to appear in the post-season this year. The Sharks currently sit in sixth place in the weak Pacific Division.
However, maybe with the great atmosphere in the dressing room, Hertl is more and more tempted to stay in San Jose and make a difference in years to come.
