TNT makes a huge pivot in their broadcasts for the rest of the playoffs
This was much needed.
If you've watched any Stanley Cup Playoff coverage on TNT, you'll have no doubt picked up on the fact that it's a bit... lacking.
While ESPN and Sportsnet are sending their broadcast teams into each building for every game, TNT has been broadcasting from their home base in Atlanta, Georgia.
Say what?
That's right, the play by play and color commentary are done via a studio in Georgia... hundreds of miles away from the actual game action.
Well, that's about to change.
TNT is ending their remote coverage starting next round and will be sending their broadcasters to each game moving forward.

Thank goodness. I was very worried that this trend might extend to other broadcasters. Lord knows that Rogers is looking to cut back expenses in any way possible, so I wouldn't put it past Sportsnet to pull a move like this. Hopefully Sportsnet, ESPN and the like have all heard the pushback against TNT and have now planned accordingly.
