One of the top targets ahead of the trade deadline has reportedly been traded.
National Hockey League insider Elliotte Friedman appears to be the first with the news, reporting that San Jose Sharks star forward Timo Meier is heading to New Jersey where he will become the newest member of the Devils.
Update: Renaud Lavoie reports 50% of Meier's salary will be retained in this deal.
Update 2: Frank Seravalli reports that the other Sharks player involved in this deal is defenseman Scott Harrington.
