“It's a learning lesson for him”

Max Domi's father Tie was one of the toughest guy in the league despite being only 5"10. The elder was the one who "used to make people accountable" for the Toronto Maple Leafs in the 90's and early 2000's.
His son, Max is playing in a league that has seen less and less of player like his father over the years. "Rules freeing up the game from clutching-and-grabbing styles of defence also placed a premium on faster, more skilled players, and further reduced the need for plodding fighters." as per CBC.
What concerns Tie Domi is who has the back of his son at a time when the league has all but elimanated the policeman role. ""Obviously, I don't agree with it, especially having a kid in the NHL now and watching the so-called accountability factor," Tie Domi said. "We used to make people accountable. It's definitely a different taste for sure."
"It's a learning lesson for him. Unfortunately, he has a little bit of me in him."
