It's been a bit of a wild day on the NHL waiver wire with San Jose Sharks forward Kevin Labanc first placed on waivers and then pulled off waivers or... maybe not even placed on waivers at all?

It's not entirely clear what the deal is with Lebanc, to be perfectly honest.

NHL insider Frank Seravalli reported first today that Labanc is on waivers:

Only to walk that report back not much longer saying that Labanc actually ISN'T on waivers.

Check it out:

Again, it's not entirely clear what's happening with Labanc.

The 27 year old forward has been a healthy scratch for all of the Sharks' three games so far this season and is in the final year of a deal that pays him nearly $5 million per season. He managed to put up 15 goals and 33 points in 72 games last season.

What we DO know however is that the Sharks have placed defenseman Radim Simek on waivers, while the Ottawa Senators have placed forward Zack MacEwen on waivers and the Pittsburgh Penguins have placed forward Jansen Harkins on waivers.

Officially, Labanc is NOT on the waiver wire for today. Stay tuned.
