Things get way worse in the Flames’ dressing room!
Something has to be done in Calgary!

On Thursday night, the Calgary Flames were handed another one-goal loss this year, their 27th this season which leads the NHL. They therefore took a blow to their playoff hopes, falling six points behind the Winnipeg Jets for the second wild-card spot in the Western Conference.
Despite Nazem Kadri downplaying recent media speculation that he and head coach Darryl Sutter have not seen eye to eye lately, it was clear last night that there are serious issues with the players and their bench boss with high profile players underachieving both offensively and between the pipes.
During the last stretch of last night’s game against the Vegas Golden Knights, Sutter chose to bench top players like Jonathan Huberdeau and Kadri and it was quickly noticed by fans and insiders.
While Huberdeau was not playing his best, it sure gets fans wondering if the coaching style and Sutter aren’t the culprits.
Kadri, who is in the first year of a seven-year, $49 million contract he signed with the Flames last off-season, has reportedly been quite vocal in the dressing room and we can only imagine that last night’s loss and the impact on Calgary’s playoff run got him reacting.
Ahead of the 3-2 loss to Vegas, Sutter was asked if the onus is on veterans to earn back their minutes, which he denied.
But his actions sure speak louder than words…
It feels like things are getting worse and worse in Calgary and it almost seems like the Flames will be playing golf early this spring, and it might all be thanks to the dysfunctional relationship between Sutter and his players…
