The good news for the Toronto Maple Leafs is that they defeated the San Jose Sharks at Scotiabank Arena last night by a 3-1 final score, extending their winning streak to five games. What's even better is that forward Mitch Marner has now tied the legendary Darryl Sittler in franchise history by recording at least one point in his last 18 games.
However, the bad news is that forward Calle Jarnkrok was felled by an injury, and he won't be back in action any time soon. According to head coach Sheldon Keefe, Leafs fans can expect to see him out of the lineup for an extended period of time with what is being described as a groin injury.
In 24 games played so far in his first season with the Leafs, Jarnkrok has scored five goals to go with four assists.
