The Seattle Kraken name a captain for the first time in franchise history.

The Seattle Kraken are just a few days away from officially kicking off their first season in the National Hockey League and we now know who will be leading the charge.

On Monday the Seattle Kraken unveiled their leadership group for the upcoming 2021 - 2022 regular season, starting by naming defenseman Mark Giordano as the first captain in the history of their franchise.

The Seattle Kraken also announced that Jordan Eberle, Yanni Gourde and Jaden Schwartz would serve as alternate captains for this season.
