Team USA reveals top lines for Four Nations Face-Off.
Team USA reveals their top lines and defensive pairings for the Four Nations tournament.
It feels like it has been a long time coming but the National Hockey League's Four Nations Face-Off is almost here and on Monday we got our first look at some of the lineups that will be featured in this tournament.
I've already highlighted the Canadian lineup in a previous article and this time around we will be looking at what the Americans have brought to the table.
It is a pretty stacked lineup for Team USA this time around with some of the NHL's truly elite talent featured up and down their lineup, the kind of lineup that seems poised to do some damage in this tournament.
First here's a look at the full lineup:
Connor-Eichel-Matthew Tkachuk
Guentzel-Matthews-Hughes
Brady Tkachuk-Miller-Boldy
Nelson-Trocheck-Larkin
Kreider
Slavin-Fox
Werenski-McAvoy
Hanifin-Faber
Sanderson
You know you've got a pretty solid group of 12 forwards when Chris Kreider is left on the sidelines when it comes to your forward group. The same can be said of Jake Sanderson serving as the team's 7th defenseman, with Team USA looking quite solid for this tournament.
I will admit that part of me was hoping that we would get to see a line that featured both Matthew and Brady Tkachuk, if only to see the kind of chaos the two brothers could cause on the ice while playing alongside one another. Perhaps you could even throw J.T. Miller in between them to produce perhaps one of the most unpleasant lines to play against in recent memory.
That being said the lineups being revealed today has certainly helped get me excited for this tournament, and I can't wait to see all 4 of the team's participating in this tournament hit the ice.
