Tanner Jeannot faces automatic suspension for hit on Brock Boeser

After his massive hit on Boeser, Jeannot’s fate will be decided by the NHL's Department of Player Safety.

Oft-injured Vancouver Canucks forward Brock Boeser will unfortunately be dealing with other significant ailment in his young career after he was run over by Los Angeles Kings’ Tanner Jeannot on Thursday night.

The poor Canuck was absolutely blown up by Jeannot with a clear cut open ice headshot that earned Jeannot a 5 minute major and a game misconduct penalty.

Boeser left the ice with the help of trainers and did not return to the contest. One Jeannot was ejected from the game, it was definite that his hit would be reviewed by the NHL's Department of Player Safety.

When players receive a match penalty, the NHL’s Department of Player Safety automatically reviews the incident. Therefore, it will be later announced today if Jeannot will either be suspended or pay a fine for what he did to Boeser.

The Department of Player Safety is expected to announce a verdict on Friday. Stay tuned as we will provide you with the league’s decision later today.
