Stunning reason why Jakub Chychrun sold his Tesla amid political tensions in USA
This is the issue for Chychrun as many others are getting rid of their Teslas because of Musk. Full story below:
Many people are ditching their Tesla, concerned about Elon Musk’s political views and looking to remove themselves of his political actions by dropping ownership of vehicles produced by his company.
Washington Capitals defenseman Jakub Chychrun recently made headlines when he signed an eight-year, $72 million contract, beginning next season at an average annual value of $9 million. But his name also got out when it was reported that he sold his Telsa amid political and financial tensions in the United States.
But when it comes to Chychrun, it’s not about politics. It all comes down to the concern of sitting on a battery…
Yes, you read correctly. Chychrun, who is quite the character as his Capitals teammates were quick to find out, explained why he sold his Telsa on 106.7 The Fan’s Grant & Danny.
“We actually bought a new car a few weeks ago,” Chychrun said. “We had a Tesla for a while that we’ve wanted to get rid of. We’re pretty big — as you guys know, we talk about our health and wellness a lot — we just had a weird feeling about sitting on a battery all day in the car, so we wanted to get rid of the Tesla, move on from the electric. And I got my my wife her dream car which was a G-Wagon.”
Chychrun may have dumped his Tesla as the electric car-maker’s brand has and become extremely unpopular. We’ve seen Tesla’s stocj price cut nearly in half since Musk joined the Trump administration in January as the leader of the Department of Government Efficiency. While physically being too close to the battery is the issue for Chychrun, many others are getting rid of their Teslas because of Musk.
In his interview, Chychrun also comments on his teammate Dylan Strome’s recent chat in which he revealed how the defenseman did not use light bulbs in his house, opting for bees wax candles instead. Chychrun has been turned into “a walking meme” alone and wanted to address his teammate’s comments:
“We like to turn the lights off in the house and do no artificial light and just light some candles,” Chychrun said. “It’s been really nice — sleeping like a baby when I do that.”
I mean Chychrun knows what he prefers and clearly he does not want to sit on a battery all day.
