Steve Ott's son steals the show... in front of his dad.
A star may have been born on Saturday after Steve Ott's son Maverick went wild in support of his father.
This might be the funniest moment from this weekend's slate of games in the National Hockey League.
Former NHL forward Steve Ott was known as a fairly serious customer during his career in the league and he has translated that same attitude to his post-playing career behind an NHL bench. Ott now serves as an assistant coach for the St. Louis Blues and he was behind the bench on Saturday when his Blues clashed with the Minnesota Wild.
Also in attendance for that game was one Maverick Ott, Steve's son, and it would be Maverick who would steal the show with a hilarious little performance to hype up the crowd and perhaps his dad as well.
In what appeared to be a planned stunt, Maverick quickly ripped off his Blues gear and began spinning his jersey over his head while screaming like a madman, much to the delight of the crowd which roared in approval. It seems as though dad may have approved of his son's antics as well, with Steve Ott's otherwise stoney-looking face cracking for the briefest moment and showing a hint of a smile.
