Sens and Kings combine for an insane 15 goal overtime thriller!

Wow! Now THAT was fun!

The Ottawa Senators and Los Angeles Kings have combined for an insane 15 goals this afternoon!

The two teams traded blows back and forth, but in the end it was the Senators who earned the 8-7 win, thanks to an OT snipe by forward Josh Norris.

Just an insane game that wouldn't allow you to get up for turkey leftovers for a moment...

Read below for our earlier report on Senators goaltenders Linus Ullmark, Anton Forsberg and Mads Sogaard published by Hockey Feed staff writer Jonathan Larrivee.

It has been a bad day for Ottawa Senators goaltenders.

Earlier this morning, concerns around the status of number one goaltender Linus Ullmark flared up when the Senators made the move to call goaltender Mads Sogaard up from the American Hockey League's Belleville Senators. Senators head coach Travis Greene had stated over the weekend that Ullmark was merely taking a maintenance day after missing practice, but the call up made it clear that things were a bit more serious than the Senators initially reported.

It was a good thing that the Senators called up Sogaard, because they would end up needing him during Monday afternoon's game against the Los Angeles Kings.

Senators backup goaltender Anton Forsberg had a terrible outing, giving up 3 goals on just 9 shots, and was pulled from the game shortly after giving up that third goal. Curiously however, it appears as though Forsberg was pulled not for performance reasons but instead due to the fact that he was injured during a collision earlier in the game.

National Hockey League insider Elliotte Friedman reported on Monday that the reason for Forsberg leaving the game was injury related, although he appears to be relatively ok given that he has returned to the Senators bench.

The Senators can ill afford to lose another goaltender with Ullmark already out of the lineup, but no official update regarding Forsberg has been released by the team at this time.
