Welcome to the big leagues, kid!

The Seattle Kraken made things official yesterday, signing 2021 2nd overall pick Matty Beniers to a three year, entry level contract.
The 19 year old U. of Michigan product is set to make his NHL debut tomorrow night against the Calgary Flames and when he does so it appears as if he'll be the expansion team's top line center, playing in between wingers Ryan Donato and Jordan Eberle.

But, if you think the kid is taking it for granted, think again.
When asked how he has handled his first few days being around the team, he answered, "...just being a sponge to learn as much as I can. You're more on your own here but you have so many guys to help."
Personally, I'm stoked to see what this kid can bring. I think it's fair to say that the Kraken have been very underwhelming in their debut season, so here's hoping that he can provide them with a bit of a jolt.
