Roberto Luongo brutally called out over post-game celebration.
Roberto Luongo gets taken to task for being a little too happy after his team advanced in Game 5.
It's been a minute since former National Hockey League goaltender Roberto Luongo actually suited up for an NHL game, but in spite of that he remains a beloved figure in the hockey community both for his charming personality and his great sense of humor.
That's why on Friday night, when his Florida Panthers advanced past the Toronto Maple Leafs in Game 5, many fans were overjoyed to see how happy Luongo was when Nick Cousins scored the game winning goal in overtime to send the Panthers to the conference final.
Luongo and the rest of the Panthers front office were understandably overjoyed at their team's triumph over the Maple Leafs, but the former NHL goaltender would be quickly chastised for showcasing his jubilation.
After Luongo's celebration went viral on Friday night, it prompted a rather harsh comment from a former NHL player on Twitter.
"Act like you’ve been there before fk," wrote user @strombone1.
As many fans no doubt already know, @strombone1 is of course none other than the aforementioned Roberto Luongo himself. It seems the former NHL goaltender, who has in fact been to a conference final before, hasn't lost his wonderful sense of humor in his new role with the Panthers front office.
