When they Vegas Golden Knights failed to qualify for the Stanley Cup Playoffs you could almost hear the entire hockey community laugh in unison. After all, this is the team that went ALL OUT to acquire superstar players in their pursuit of a Stanley Cup and they couldn't even qualify for the post-season. Epic fail, as the kids say.
And to say that the team's acquisition of superstar Jack Eichel didn't go as hoped would be the understatement of the year. Eichel put up 14 goals and 25 points in 34 games with the Golden Knights and, particularly toward the end of the season, he never really seemed to find his stride with his new team. Now a report from Vegas insider David Schoen seems to indicate that Eichel was playing with a broken finger for the final six weeks of the regular season.

Honestly... that changes my opinion on Eichel a bit. I watched him pretty closely in the final two weeks of the season and saw a player who was ineffective at best and downright bad at worst. He was a total non-factor when Vegas needed him most and now it's more understandable to see why. Thoughts, Vegas fans?
