Report: Canucks get Demko back for series against Oilers
But can they hang in until his return?
This just in from NHL insider Frank Seravalli, the Vancouver Canucks may get superstar goaltender Thatcher Demko back for their series against the Edmonton Oilers... but it won't be until at least Game 5 of the series.
Seravalli reports that sources have indicated to him that Demko is nearing a return but won't be ready until at least Game 5 next week and is more likely for Games 6 & 7, if necessary.
From Seravalli:
The Vezina Trophy nominee has been out since suffering a knee injury in Game 1 against the Nashville Predators last round. Backup Casey DeSmith performed admirably in Demko's absence but an injury to him forced the Canucks to run with Latvian rookie Arturs Silovs for the majority of the first round. While Silovs has played well, the Canucks would get a HUGE boost from Demko's return. Stay tuned.
