The Detroit Red Wings have released the latest update regarding the health status of towering rookie forward Elmer Soderblom; he's missed the last month with a lower body injury after blocking a shot in November.
They've officially activated him from Injured Reserve, though he won't be immediately playing for Detroit again. He'll be undergoing a conditioning stint with the American Hockey League affiliate Grand Rapids Griffins:
The 159th overall pick in the sixth round of the 2019 NHL Entry Level Draft, the 6'8 Soderblom impressed Detroit's brass enough during Training Camp to earn a spot on the roster. In 13 games played so far this season, he's tallied twice.
