Rangers rookie set to make NHL debut, Laviolette confirms.
The New York Rangers are set to get a new addition to the lineup on Sunday with a rookie debut.
The table is set for a young man to achieve his dream of playing in the National Hockey League.
According to a report from New York Rangers insider Larry Brooks, Rangers prospect Matthew Rempe will make his debut in the NHL on Sunday afternoon when the Rangers take on the New York Islanders. An NHL debut is a big deal at any time, but to get the opportunity to play for the Rangers against one of their long time rivals will no doubt be an incredible experience for the 21 year old.
It has been a long journey to the NHL for Rempe who was drafted in the sixth round (165th overall) of the 2020 NHL Entry Draft but his hard work has paid off and he is now being rewarded for those efforts.
Rempe has spent most of the past two seasons as a member of the American Hockey League's Hartford Wolfpack, playing 48 games there this season and picking up 8 goals and 4 assists for a total of 12 points over that stretch of play.
