Rangers analyst Steve Valiquette with the all-time dumbest take on live-air

Jack Hughes is stunned lol

In case you missed it last night, the New York Rangers dropped a listless decision to their rival New Jersey Devils yesterday evening.

The Rangers played uninspired hockey and frankly handed an easy 5-1 victory to the Devils on a silver platter. It was an unfocused effort from the Rangers, a team who have failed to really find an identity through the first quarter of the NHL season.

Devils Linemates Jesper Bratt and Jack Hughes lit the Rangers up for a combined seven points, but that's not what upset Rangers analyst and former Rangers goaltender Steve Valiquette. Nah, go ahead and score all you like but Valiquette just doesn't like it when you try to go backhand deke on a breakaway.

Pardon?

Check out this all-time bad take by Valiquette where he cries for retribution from the Rangers for Hughes having the audacity to go backhand deke in all alone. The response from Hughes is simply perfect.

Check it out:

I think I can sum this up succinctly with a meme:

Better yet, the Devils themselves poked some fun at Valiquette and the Rangers post-game with this clip:
