Felicia Wennberg took to social media to explain how the same situation would never be accepted if it happened to a woman.

Alex Wennberg plays for the Seattle Kraken, and its fanbase has grown significantly ever since the franchise was added to the NHL. However, the popularity of Wennberg has taken an odd turn. His wife Felicia recently took to her instagram account to call out women (and some men as well) from going too far with their comments and responses on her husband’s videos on TikTok. She said she’s even made some comments on his looks herself, but feels like some fans are crossing a line.
“The reason I struggled to navigate this is while I’m all for female empowerment and especially around sex, there has been videos and comments made that has crossed the line of what it means to fancy someone and when it actually sounds pretty predatory and exploiting.”
She added that she feels the situation would be much different if the comments were directed at a woman: “…there seem to be a different threshold of what is considered ok only because the victims of people’s desires are male hockey players.
“I feel that women who have experienced catcalling, getting involuntarily filmed in exposed situations (like a groin stretch at their job) should hold ourselves to a higher standard. You can be sex positive without exploiting others.”
On Saturday, both Wennberg and his wife explained her statement and how they support the cause of female empowerment and embrace discussions around sexuality. Felicia apologized for targeting some women with her comments, but hopes to raise awareness about the importance of respecting boundaries and consent especially when it could cross the line of sexual harassment
Felicia Wennberg is quite active on social media and has a significant following, and probably hope for little backlash when it came to speaking against the trend of provocative comments.
In a subsequent Instagram story, she thanked her followers for standing by her and her husband during this difficult time.
