PK Subban gets heat from fans for bad Connor Bedard joke
Isn’t there a little bit of truth in every joke though?

All eyes have been on Connor Bedard ever since he was selected first overall by the Chicago Blackhawks… even before then when he was lighting it up in the juniors. But we’ve reached just another level in the highly-anticipated career of Bedard.
The star rookie collected an assist on the first goal of the Blackhawks’ season in his NHL debut, and followed that performance with his first career NHL goal against the Bruins in Boston the following night.
That’s a two-game streak, and fans and pundits can’t stop talking about Bedard. So much so that all the noise about the kid prompted former NHL defenseman and now TV analyst P.K. Subban to make the following joke on social media:
“Connor Bedard is so overrated…”
Fans quickly reacted to Subban’s comment by stating that he too was way overrated when he played in the league, that he should give Bedard a shot, or even leave him along as he is the most exciting thing fans have seen in the NHL for a long time, maybe since the start of the career of Edmonton Oilers’ Connor McDavid or even to some, the beginning of Sidney Crosby’s reign with the Pittsburgh Penguins.
But there is some truth to Subban’s joke… it’s only been two games.
I love the excitement from fans about a promising player like Bedard, who will indeed have a lot to offer to the NHL and its fanbase.
However, maybe we should put a break on all the analysis and projections for the time being. Let’s see what else he can do on a rebuilding team that just lost forward Taylor Hall for the next few weeks due to an upper-body injury.
But, then again, here I am writing about it. Got something to say about that, Subban?
