Phil Kessel has been spotted training with a team in the National Hockey League.

Las Vegas Golden Knights beat reporter Chris Gawlik spotted the veteran NHL forward training with his former team, the Vegas Golden Knights, on Saturday. As far as we know Kessel has yet to secure himself an NHL contract or a professional tryout offer, but this is just one more sign that he is intent on playing this season.

Speculation of Kessel potentially returning for another season with the Golden Knights will likely run rampant as a result of this news, but it is important to note that the Golden Knights have not yet officially begun their training camp which is set to get underway next week.

Kessel appeared in all 82 games for the Golden Knights last season, scoring 14 goals and adding 22 assists for a total of 36 points on the season, but saw limited deployment in the playoffs which likely hurt his value as a free agent.

Kessel is currently the NHL's reigning Ironman with 1,076 consecutive games under his belt, an unreal accomplishment, but he has made it clear he is willing to set that streak aside to play in a limited role this season.

Stay tuned for more on this developing story.
