Over his professional hockey career in the International Hockey League, American Hockey League and National Hockey League, Peter Laviolette became known as a pretty tough customer. You would rarely want to cross paths with Laviolette, a man who had more penalty minutes than games played, and it would seem that the apple has not fallen far from the tree.

Over the weekend Laviolette's son, Peter Laviolette III, showed the hockey world just that when he had perhaps the most impressive fight of his hockey career thus far. Laviolette III, currently plays for the Wheeling Nailers of the ECHL, where he has spent the last 3 seasons, and over the weekend the Nailers took on the Bloomington Bison in a game that would see Laviolette III make an early exit.

That's because during the game's second period, Laviolette III would get into some rough stuff off the face-off draw with Bloomington Bison's Mikael Robidoux, a very tough customer in his own right. Laviolette III was having none of it however and skated up to Robidoux until the two men were face to face, with Laviolette III almost appearing to dare Robidoux to make the first move.

Robidoux would in fact make the first move, but boy would he ever come to regret that decision.

After absorbing a punch from Robidoux as if it was nothing, Laviolette III fired off a vicious left hand that completely rocked Robidoux, sending the Bison's forward plummeting to the ice as he briefly lost all control of his faculties.

While it was over almost as quickly as it started, it nonetheless adds a very impressive notch on Laviolette III's belt and one that a lot of people around the hockey world are suddenly taking notice of.
