Penguins reward Sidney Crosby with a very classy gift.
The Pittsburgh Penguins are doing something a little special for their beloved captain, and it is a well deserved reward.
There's no question that Pittsburgh Penguins superstar Sidney Crosby has done a great deal for the city of Pittsburgh and the Penguins organization as the face of the National Hockey League for the better part of the last two decades, but it is also true that Crosby himself has benefited tremendously from that relationship.
This week, in an incredible show of class, the Pittsburgh Penguins announced that they would be rewarding their captain for all of his years of hard work in a rather unique way.
When the Penguins unveiled their preseason schedule to their fans on Friday, among the games listed on the schedule was a trip to the province of Nova Scotia for a preseason game against the Ottawa Senators. Nova Scotia is of course not an NHL city, but it is the home province of one Sidney Crosby who of course famously hails from Cole Harbor, Nova Scotia.
The game itself won't take place in Crosby's hometown of Cole Harbor but instead will only be a few kilometers away at the Scotiabank Centre in Halifax, home of the Halifax Mooseheads. The Mooseheads are of course a junior team in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League, and the last time Crosby played a professional game at the Scotiabank Centre was when he was himself still playing junior hockey as a member of the Rimouski Oceanic.
