The Pittsburgh Penguins pulled off an improbable win over the Boston Bruins on Sunday afternoon but it appears as though that victory has come with a significant cost.
The Penguins have been decimated by injuries all season long and that trend continued on Sunday when head coach Mike Sullivan revealed that both Dominik Kahun and Dominik Simon suffered injuries during the course of the game, and furthermore that they were currently being evaluated by the team's medical staff. At this time we have no details regarding the injuries to either player, however the Penguins have revealed that Simon is dealing with a lower body injury whole Kahun is dealing with an upper body injury.
Both men have been very useful for the Penguins this season, especially in light of the injuries the team has suffered. In the case of Simon, a 25 year old forward, he has appeared in 49 games this season, picking up 6 goals and 14 assists for a combined total of 20 points. He has 10 penalty minutes to his name and currently sits at a plus minus rating of -1.Kahun, a 24 year old forward, on the other hand has appeared in 48 games for the Penguins this season and has looked strong with 10 goals and 17 assists for a combined 27 points. He has just 8 penalty minutes to his name and in his case he boasts a plus minus rating of +9.
No word yet on when we can expect another update from Mike Sullivan.
