Penguins collapse, give up 3 goals in just 65 seconds.

The Pittsburgh Penguins ugly season continued on Saturday with a horrible collapse in the second period.

The Pittsburgh Penguins are having a less than ideal start to the 2024-25 National Hockey League regular season, and Saturday night's game against the Vancouver Canucks may very well go down as one of the lowlights.

Things were looking good for the Penguins in the early going, with the Penguins taking an early 2-0 lead over the Canucks, but an almost surreal collapse in the game's second period would quickly turn the game on its head.

A series of unfortunate turnovers would pave the way for a Penguins implosion, one that would result in the Canucks scoring 4 unanswered goals including 3 in the span of just 65 seconds.

It would be Canucks forward Elias Pettersson who would get the ball rolling, a big deal for him given that he had yet to score on the season.

Kiefer Sherwood would tie the game just seconds later after another offensive zone turnover from the Penguins.

Canucks star forward J.T. Miller would score the third goal of the 65 second onslaught, erasing the Penguins lead entirely and putting his team up by 1.

Everyone was seemingly getting in on the fun at the expense of the Penguins with Arshdeep Bains scoring his first career goal in the NHL to give the Canucks a 2 goal lead in what felt like the blink of an eye.

The Penguins have 20 minutes to regroup and get back into this game, but it would be an understatement to suggest that things aren't looking great for Sidney Crosby and company after 40 minutes of play.
