Patrick Kane gives a very interesting reason on why he came back to the Red Wings.

Detroit Red Wings fans if you don't already love Red Wings broadcaster Ken Daniels, now might be your long overdue hint to start doing so. Daniels has been one of the best voices in the sport of hockey and it would seem as though one of Detroit's top stars also seems to share in that opinion.

On Monday, Red Wings star forward Patrick Kane spoke with members of the media for the first time since signing his new deal to remain with the team for one more season, and shared some insight into why he decided to return to Detroit, Kane would reveal that Daniels himself had played a role in the decision, with Kane indicating that some of his most cherished hockey memories were created in part by Daniels this past season.

"Looking back at some of the moments (last season) and some of the calls that Ken Daniels had, I can watch those clips for the rest of my life," said Kane. "The calls he had on some of the goals I scored, those are moments that give you chills. You want to create more of those."

Kane didn't mention any one moment in particular, and was likely thinking of more than one, but if I had to pick just 1 call from Ken Daniels last season that I believe stands out there's an easy choice to make. Patrick Kane's overtime winner in his return to Chicago was a magical moment, one that was greatly amplified by a truly incredible piece of broadcasting from Ken Daniels.

I could easily believe that this was a season highlight for Kane as I thought it was one of the most storybook moments of the entire National Hockey League season.

Kane also took a moment to shout out the fans, who welcomed him with open arms despite him representing the rival Chicago Blackhawks for most of his NHL career.

"For me, my heart was set on Detroit and coming back to Detroit … I thought the fans really embraced me too," said Kane.

I have no doubt that Kane, Daniels and the fans all look forward to making even more special moments happen this coming season.
