Patrick Kane linked to Canadian team in latest rumor

It's halfway through August and we still don't know where superstar free agent Patrick Kane will be playing this upcoming season.

Kane, of course, is recovering from hip surgery and is expected to be out of commission until December so whichever team does get him under contract won't get his services to start the season. He has all the makings of a fantastic mid-season pick up though. So the question is... where will he end up?

The New York Rangers are an obvious choice, as are Kane's hometown Buffalo Sabres but there's been some chatter recently that Kane could end up alongside Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl with the Edmonton Oilers.

There were rumors last season that the Oilers were interested in Kane but that Kane himself was only interested in going to the Rangers. I wonder know if things have changed following Kane's lackluster showing in NYC and if he has changed his opinion on Edmonton.

There's no denying the fact that Kane would provide the already explosive Oilers with even more offensive punch. The Oilers are obviously capped out so they'd have to either move some money out or hope that Kane is willing to sign on the cheap or, most realistically, both. Still, where there's smoke, there's fire. I'd love to see this rumor come true.
