There is a full rebuild taking place in Chicago and Blackhawks star forward Patrick Kane looks to want out of it. These past months have brought forth significant changes in Chicago. Blackhawks GM Kyle Davidson pulled off two large trades on the draft floor in Montreal. First up, Davidson traded star forward Alex DeBrincat to the Ottawa Senators in exchange for the 7th overall pick, a 2nd round and a 3rd pick. Then Davidson shipped out former 3rd overall pick Kirby Dach to the Montreal Canadiens in exchange for the 13th overall pick and another 2nd round pick. In essence, the Blackhawks loaded up on draft picks by shipping out DeBrincat and Dach.

At first, fans weren’t sure what it would mean for Kane, but on Friday, David Pagnotta of The Fourth Period reported that the Blackhawks “have been engaged in trade discussions with teams about Patrick Kane.” Which makes him available on the market.

There seems to have a strong contender for his services in the Dallas Stars. Earlier this week, NHL insider Andy Strickland reported on the Cam & Strick Podcast that he has heard rumors linking Kane to the Stars.

“Somebody told me, ‘watch out for the Dallas Stars.’ They’re looking to make a splash and I had someone throw out the name Patrick Kane to me about the Dallas Stars. Chicago would probably have to eat some money, but I had a birdie tell me ‘watch out for the Dallas Stars'.”

Pagnotta also believes Dallas has shown interest.

The Stars are a team that absolutely SHOULD be making a splash and trying to get one or two last runs out of players like Jamie Benn and Tyler Seguin. They’d only have better chances with Kane in the fold!

Let’s stay tuned!
