Pat Maroon has more words for Jack Edwards

Maroon emerges looking like the better person here.

By now, you've surely heard the controversy stemming from outspoken Boston Bruins television commentator Jack Edwards, who has become well known over the years for his polarizing broadcasting style and favoritism resulting in a treasure trove of verbal highlights.

During a game earlier this week between the Bruins and Tampa Bay Lightning, Edwards seemed to be mocking Lightning forward Pat Maroon over his weight, while also stating that "inadvertent fasting for Pat Maroon is like going four hours without a meal".

Maroon immediately took the high road by making a donation to a charity that helps people struggling with mental health and body image.

But he didn't stop there.

Said Maroon earlier today:

“I wasn’t even on the ice & I don't understand why he said it. I'm a bigger guy, I know that. There's times we joke around the locker, guys chirp me on the ice. But when someone's announcing the game and doing something like that, or front of millions of fans and millions of listeners and just pretty much you put me down to the lowest, it’s never fun to hear that…I’m a professional athlete, I can take some stuff….I’m a funny guy…You can joke with me all you want, but that was very unnecessary."

Jack Edwards certainly post his foot in his mouth (again) on this one.
