The era that brought the Chicago Blackhawks essentially back from the dead thanks to the core of franchise icons Jonathan Toews, Patrick Kane, Patrick Sharp, Marian Hossa, Brent Seabrook and Duncan Keith is officially over; the final chapter came to a close last season with the departure of both Kane and Toews, both of whom played their last game with the organization.

While Hossa has already had his jersey retired by the team, more are are on the way as the careers of both Seabrook and Keith have come to a close.

But until then, both Seabrook and Keith are now officially Hall of Famers - at least, they will be this weekend when they're inducted into the British Columbia Hall of Fame.

Keith played 16 years with the Blackhawks, winning the Conn Smythe Trophy as the Most Valuable Player of the 2015 Stanley Cup Playoffs, and also won the Norris Trophy as the NHL's best defenseman a pair of times. He would close out his NHL career by playing one season with the Edmonton Oilers after requesting a trade to Canada to be closer to family.

Meanwhile, Seabrook played 15 years with the Blackhawks, often being paired with Keith on the blue line. In December of 2018, both Seabrook and Keith became the first pair of defencemen, and the seventh duo in NHL history, to play 1,000 games together.
